You should be able to pursue it with the website team. They're an art site; there must have been incidents like this before. You have clear proof that you posted this as yours before the user claimed it as theirs. It's got your signature on it. They shouldn't have a problem seeing the art was stolen from you, and they should at least remove the stolen copy from their site if not also ban the user responsible.

ah, but it is fan art, made not as a painting, but as a digital manipulation - not sure if that counts as "art". also the "thief" as it were hasn't posted a great deal that i can see. i will check and see if there's some kind of recourse, though.

Mm, I don't think it matters. Posting someone else's work under your own name is plagiarism no matter the content of the work. The reason I flagged this up with you is because someone was reblogging it on tumblr from the thief's dA page - I took one look at that image and I knew it was yours. (I ought to; it's my desktop background.) I don't like seeing someone else take credit for an artist's efforts at the best of times; when it's an artist I particularly admire, even more so.

well, i've messaged the poster and asked her to remove it. honestly, it's not that hard to find my pieces to give credit for them. a good percentage of my artwork is at Passion and Perfection. I even have a tumblr where I'm fairly certain I've posted all my myka/hg walls. anyway, thanks for letting me know. and just so you know, that tumblr of mine is: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/shaych03
