Southern Burn

Disclaimer: Others own ‘em. I just play with ‘em.*
Ice glitters, robin’s egg blue shatters into a thousand fragments of need.
Full lips crack, become a smile of conquest. “They say you’re passionate…”
“I can be…” Broken breath a sob filled with a million and two pleas.
Fading lamplight illuminates caramel on cream.
Kisses bless sweat dewed skin. “I think they’re right.” Her eyes reflect the smile. Serena’s lips curve in echo.
Pale fingers sift layers of night dark hair.
A phone rings.
“Light my fire?” The laughter is quickly hidden.
Aiden smirks. “Yeah? On it, boss. Give me ten.” Teeth scrape flesh with a silent promise. “Don’t move, Lovergirl.”
Dawn ignites a flare that trails over the attorney’s naked flesh as she curls into abandoned warmth.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.”

Disclaimer: Not mine. Just having fun.
Paperwork snow mounded the desk. Amber fragments of a ponytail framed her pale face. Coffee congealed in a lime green cup that bore the legend, “ADA’s do it in limine.”
Eyes narrowed in an attempt to ward off sleep. Ring-ring. “Novak.” Yawn. Smile. “Okay.”
Darkened doorway. Rumpled detective. Head against frame. “Go home, Counselor.” Her chocolate gaze exposed the desire that sorrel fringe cannot hide.
Copper and candy met. Unconsciously, Casey licked her lips, her exhaustion fled.
“Guess I could.”
“I’ll drive you.” Anywhere… her eyes promised.
Bodies innocently brushed. Stolen kiss fulfills a million fantasies.
“Take me home, Detective.”

At Play

Disclaimer: Not my sandbox. I’m just building castles to while away the time…
Musical laughter burbled liltingly. Tracey turned her head and smiled at her partner. Sky-touched eyes twinkled and a button nose wrinkled as Kelly returned the sweet sentiment.
Rapidly moving arms and legs in tandem, Tracey felt a momentary surge of silliness, but it was lost when Kelly stood and held out a hand to her.
“Let’s go get warmed up. I think my ass is frozen.”
“I can fix that,” she said, her tone a throaty promise as she was tugged into a lingering kiss.
“I’m counting on it.”
Arm in arm, the attorneys returned to their cabin while behind them, two angels greeted the winter sun.

Date: 2005-07-18 02:02 pm (UTC)as for how i do my walls... i start with caps... and clean them up and repaint them in photoshop... for various "parts" (hands, etc) i will reference source material like other caps or even magazine and candid photos... cut/paste/paint. i use the clone brush for some stuff, the "fuzzy" eraser a lot... and the blur/sharpen/smooth brush... the smooth brush especially... it's my "paintbrush" it's what i use to push the pixels around and blend them smooth so that the graininess of the caps goes away.
then i apply a number of filters to give the image the "artsy" look :)
not so much the color channels, etc. i'm still learning ... i use the layers and blending options a lot tho

Date: 2005-07-18 02:34 pm (UTC)that sounds like like loads and loads of work. nifty results tho (for the ones i've seen ;D) not sure that color channels are good for realistic stuff, but then what do i know. :P
no subject
Date: 2005-07-18 02:37 pm (UTC)i've used color channels when i want to smooth out something in one tone... or to peel out a certain level of color ... it's really just easier though to use the hue bar. :D
as for what you've seen... LOL well... they're all there :)
no subject
Date: 2005-07-18 03:24 pm (UTC)peeling out layers of colors? hue bar? okay. I'll file it under "reserved for possible future eureka moments". :D i think i still prefer traditional materials, even for the 3D stuff. i'm hoping to translate some into paintings / drawings when i have time, but near instant gratification is also cool. :D

Date: 2005-07-18 03:33 pm (UTC)plus, there's my geocities site, http://www.geocities.com/shaychthree/doodles.htm
that's about all i can think of... :)
i like traditional materials as well, i'm just not as good of a portrait artist as i once was... rusty and all. with photoshop, i have a base to start from... :)

Date: 2005-07-18 04:19 pm (UTC)i don't particularly have a favorite of mine, though my current desktop is My Only One... actually... i think my favorite "image" i've done is one i won't be posting a for a while because it goes with a story i have yet to write LOL

Date: 2005-07-18 04:29 pm (UTC)i figure the picture will help me remember the plot, when it's time. i'll have this visual to guide me as i write.
as for getting it out there... i never post anything "unfinished" ... it drives me nuts to find unfinished works, so i figure i won't do that to others. :D this goes for artwork that relates to stories as well as stories :D

Date: 2005-07-18 04:43 pm (UTC)as for posting - i agree with you - don't read anything incomplete.
as for posting, i figure some people would prefer that they have stuff to read than not at all. so i get them out there. besides, it'll motivate me to keep writing, rather than letting it sit and rot in my brain. :P (like all those uber xwp story that are now going to get woven into the Lemon Orange universe because the characters refused to die in my head. :P)
no subject
Date: 2005-07-18 04:48 pm (UTC)as for characters... well... one of the reasons i won't post unfinished works is so that if (such as has happened with my other fannish obsessions) my head gets turned by something new (ooh shiney...) and i start writing in another fandom, or even my own stuff... my readers aren't left hanging.
that's why all my stuff has a definite end... there may be threads left unstitched, but they're usually the type that don't actually have to be answered to have a satisfying read. :D
