1. when i first started out in the online world, my handle was "firestorm" but that was on a local four line bbs... firestorm stuck around for a while as i moved up through several local bbs' and then started writing fanfic (xena) and wanted to use a unique alias. i am a huge mercedes lackey fan. at the time, "alt" xena fic was new and few... i wanted a way for those "in the know" to get a clue right away as to the nature of my stories... thus, sHaYcH was born... shaych being a term that mercedes lackey uses to describe gay people in her valdemar series... anyway, i went to aol, used shaych3 as my handle, and voila, shaych and three just sort of stuck together. i changed aol accounts at one point, so the zero got added :) in the course of the last ten years, shaych has devolved into "shay" ... and just about everyone calls me shay now LOL even my mother. :D
2. babbles and brain dumps... i had a quasi journalesque page on my fanfic website (http://www.geocities.com/shaych3/playground.htm) of the same name... i never used it quite as much as i do livejournal... but i liked the idea of the name... because really, most of what i post is either babble (such as this meme) or brain dumps (such as fic or pix)
3. mental meanderings... because it's alliterative and sounds cool? LOL
4. into the minds of others - because that's where you go, when you look at my flist... you get to see shades of what others are thinking, whether it's shallow kiddie swim or big kid deep :D
5. Her Solace, at the moment. Because I love casey/olivia, and this immortalizes a lovely moment of subtext from seventh season :) but my default user pic is subject to change, since i only have three userpics right now. and maybe when i don't feel like the side of my face is going to explode, i'll make some new icons :D
