no matter how carefully you pack for a move, you always lose things. in my case, i lost some cords to my computer, which have been, thankfully, discovered.
unpacking continues apace... today i got mom's computer up and running as well as setting up a computer in the craft/dining/office/anything we need it to be room.
this leaves me with a desktop in my bedroom, on a desk that lacks a keyboard drawer... as there is not enough room on top of the desk for a monitor and a keyboard and a mouse, and really, i can't use that from my bed when i want to lie down and watch something or read a story, i need to install the keyboard drawer that came with the desk...
i have everything except the damn screws. thus, my next task is to start moving boxes around in the garage... one, to find my screws and two, because we are getting a "new to us" washer/dryer set at some point this week.
pictures to come soon... i think i should be mostly done with my room by this evening. mainly, i have a lot of clean up to do... most of the art is installed and until i can get another chest of drawers for my closet, much of what's left (things, not clothes) will be stored in boxes. i have a lot of paperwork and such that's related to my early (horridly bad) attempts at writing that i just can't seem to part with, so i'll store it until some future generation needs kindling.
that cats are adjusting... cleo seems to have decided that i am her person right now, because she's hardly more than a foot away from me at all times... tc and feathers are similar, but enjoy sneaking off to see gramma whenever she's home.
zhadosh, on the other hand, could really give a fuck less. he's crowned himself king of all he surveys, and right now, he's the proud ruler of most of the house, as the others know a good scritching when they can cadge one.
only when the big grey beast is lonely do we hear the plaintive wail that signifies that his majesty requires a love. he then thunders into my bedroom, leaps on my bed and proceeds to beat me about the head and shoulders with his cantaloupe sized head until i fall prostrate to his demands.
mom is enjoying her work... more and more people are realizing the wisdom of getting flu shots "early" and are coming in to get stuck... this is a good thing. hopefully, less nasty bugs will run around making people sick this year.
anyway, pictures later, if not tomorrow, i think. at least of my room. can't say as to the rest of the house, since the living room looks like UHaul barfed everywhere...
