tour de room

it's not much, but it's shaping up to be "home"

So here's a little tour of my room so far... There are still a few things in storage, but for the most part, this is how it is.

Think of the room as a rather bulbous rectangle... not quite square, but not all long sides with short end caps. One wall is almost completely taken up with my mirrored closet doors...

but the rest of that wall, and the door, were just large enough for me to hang a few pieces of art, plus some of my jewelry.

along the wall shared with my door is a shelf full of my pagan/mystical artifacts/mineral collection. also one dresser and a chest of drawers, plus more art.

opposite the mystical stuff is my bed etc, plus another shelf and even more art, and another dresser.

special guest appearance by Cleo the cat in one of these pictures. and yes, that is a candle rack being used for a jewelry rack...

this is what it looks like when my older babies decide that it's bedtime:

and of course, we have His Royal Fatness, Zhadosh, master of all he surveys, conqueror of the table, lounging in the sun:

this picture was taken in the craft room.

today, i got most all of the beads in place in the craft room. many of the boxes are still "bricked" (we taped stacks of boxes together in bricks to make them easy to move) but at least they are on the shelves.

tomorrow, more garage stuff... in fact, i may attempt a bit tonight, if i can go about it quietly...

i've been making jewelry since i was 15ish. i'm now 40ish. i still wear most of what i've made. this is not to include all my mom's stuff, plus our books, artwork collection (we enjoy art... especially fantasy art) and the massive collection of "crafts" stuff that includes the jewelry business and mom's fabric.

21 days. that's 21 full days, from early morning til early morning... i was getting around four to five hours of sleep a day, on an average.

the rest of the time was packing, loading, unloading, etc...

and we purged a massive, massive pile.

and we have more to do... sadly, we are packrats... i'm trying to let go of that, but mom enjoys her things. me, what i hold dear would probably fill the back end of a pick up... because furniture? i don't really give a crap about, but the things i've made? yeah, i love those.
